New poll by Euronews Albania: Tirana’s parliamentary seats could be distributed in a surprising way. The Socialists are in the lead, but smaller parties are also in the mix.
A few weeks before the Albanian parliamentary elections on May 11, an exciting race for the 37 seats in the Tirana district is emerging. According to a recent poll conducted by the opinion research institute MRB-Hellas on behalf of Euronews Albania between March 22 and April 3, 2025, the ruling Socialist Party (PS) appears to have a clear lead.
The survey was based on 1,000 face-to-face interviews with residents from all five municipalities in the district. According to Euronews Albania, the sample was structured to accurately reflect the actual distribution of the population.
Accordingly, the distribution of seats could develop as follows:
- Socialist Party (PS): 47.4% approval (±2%), which would correspond to approximately 19 seats.
- Alliance for a Greater Albania – led by the Democratic Party (PD): 30.7% (±2%), potentially 12 seats.
- The Shqipëria Bëhet initiative and the Mundësia party are each at 7.4% (±1.5%) and could together win at least 5 seats.
- The Bashkë movement currently stands at 4.1% (±1%) and could, with luck, make it into parliament.
As Euronews Albania further analyzes, the figures reflect a volatile political moment in Albania’s capital district, one of the most influential in the country. The coming weeks of campaigning could therefore be decisive for the final distribution of power in the new parliament.
