Police units and the National Guard are still taking action against violent protesting immigrants in Los Angeles – but the security forces appear to be getting the situation under control. US President Donald Trump writes: “Order is being restored, the illegals are being removed.”
During the night of Monday (CET), protesters in Los Angeles even surrounded several highway patrol patrol cars under a bridge and threw large rocks and even electric scooters at the police officers, setting the police cars on fire. In other hot spots in L.A., scenes reminiscent of civil war broke out again, with violent protesters posing next to and on top of police cars they had set on fire and waving Mexican flags.
As previously reported, the migrants are protesting against the deportation offensive by ICE, the immigration authority, which is now conducting raids in all neighborhoods of Los Angeles on the orders of the Trump administration.
Trump: “Will rid Los Angeles of the migrant invasion”
The US president has now responded again to the shocking images from California. Donald Trump (78) even wrote on his media platform Truth Social about a migrant invasion:
“Los Angeles, once a great American city, has been taken over by illegal immigrants and criminals. Now violent, rioting mobs are storming around and attacking our federal officers to stop our deportations. But these lawless riots only strengthen our resolve. I am directing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, in coordination with all other relevant departments and agencies, to take all necessary measures to rid Los Angeles of the migrant invasion and end the migrant riots. Order will be restored, the illegals will be removed, and Los Angeles will be liberated.“
US President Trump also hinted at the possible deployment of soldiers in other US cities. When asked by a journalist whether he would use the US Insurrection Act for military operations within the country, he replied: ”We are considering soldiers everywhere. We will not let this happen to our country.” When asked what the threshold would be for deploying Marines instead of the National Guard currently deployed in Los Angeles, Trump said the decision was up to him: “The threshold is where I think it is.”
